Walcott was stretchered off towards the end of the encounter.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger hoped that the England international had just been kicked, but initial reports suggest he will be out for the next month with knee ligament damage.

Wenger has openly explored the transfer market this January, as he continues the search for a new striker.

This search might intensify following Walcott's injury.
