Enyimba assistant coach Imama Amapakabor has said visiting Giwa FC were simply lucky to hold them to a goalless draw on Sunday in continuation of the Nigeria league.
Giwa goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo was in superlative form as he kept out efforts from Mfon Udoh, Sibi Gwar and Abdulrahman Bashir as the Jos club held out for a crucial point on the road. The Enyimba coach lamented that his players failed to make the most of the numerous chances they created in the Week 19 clash in Aba.
"We didn't underrate Giwa at all, we went all out for the three points, but it was unfortunate that we couldn't," Amapakabor said.
"We created many scoring chances but we couldn't score any. It is one of those games."
An Enyimba victory would have shot to the top of the league standings.
They now have 29 points from 19 games, while Giwa FC have 28 points from 18 games.
