Copa America star Arturo Vidal is very close to becoming a Bayern Munich player after the two clubs tonight agreed a €40m (£28m) fee, according to the ever reliable Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Bavarian giants only made first contact with the ‘Old Lady’ earlier today but negotiations have moved quickly. The Chilean midfielder has spent four years at Juventus and is being signed as a replacement for Bastian Schweinsteiger, who recently left Bayern for Manchester United.
Aged 28, Vidal could be a Bayern Munich player by the end of the weekend with his agent currently in Monaco finalising the terms of his new contract.
Already familiar with the Bundesliga, Arturo Vidal initially left Chilean club Colo Colo in 2007 to sign for Bayer Leverkusen.
Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich are currently in China for their pre-season and are set to face Valencia, Inter Milan and Guangzhou Evergrande over the next 7 days.
