MLS: Martins, Drogba Fail To Win Goal Of The Season

Didier Drogba and Obafemi Martins have lost out on the MLS Goal of the Season despite being among the top scorers in the league. None of their goals was good enough to win the best goal award but the two players were key in the success of their both teams this season.

Drogba of Montreal Impact and  Seattle Sounders forward Obafemi Martins had their goals nominated for the 2015 MLS Goal of the Year.

‘Oba’, for one, had four of his goals initially nominated for the award.

The Nigeria international, who scored 15 goals in the MLS this season, reached the last four as his goal against Colorado Rapid was among the top four goals of the year.

The MLS Goal of the Year 2015 is now between Krisztian Nemeth of Sporting Kansas City and Sebastian Giovinco.
