Yakubu Aiyegbeni Scores Hat-Trick In Turkey

Nigerian striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni showed he has not lost his scoring touch when he plundered a hat-trick for Turkish club, Kayserispor in the Cup on Tuesday.

The attacker netted twice in the first half and once in the second half to power his side to a 7-2 victory over Sariyer in a third round contest decided at Yusuf Ziya Önis Stadyumu.

Aiyegbeni’s first goal on 13 minutes gave Kayserispor the lead while his second, seven minutes later temporarily made the score 3-0 after Sinan Bakis had netted the game’s second goal on the quarter hour.

The former Super Eagles goals poacher then displayed his deadly ability from the penalty spot when he coolly converted a spot kick on 72 minutes to complete his hat-trick.

Aiyegbeni had not scored for Kayserispor this season despite playing eight league matches for the club this season.

The 33-year-old striker had previously played for Reading, Blackburn Rovers, Everton, Leicester City and Middlesbrough.
