An imperious Manchester City side passed the 100-goal mark in all competitions this season by beating Cardiff 4-2 this evening at the Etihad Stadium.
Edin Dzeko scored the 100th goal – after just 34 matches – with a scrappy opening goal in the 14th minute that needed the say-so of the Goal Decision System, capping an early period of sustained dominance by the hosts.
Craig Noone equalised for Cardiff but Jesus Navas quickly restored City’s lead.
Second-half goals from Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero kept up the team’s 100 percent home record in the league.
Fraizer Campbell scored an injury-time consolation for the visiting Welsh side.
It ensured a miserable return to Manchester for Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who played 11 years for Manchester United
