I Always Want Real Madrid To Loose - Jordi Alba

Jordi Alba has spoken out in support of his teammate Neymar, responding to criticism of the Brazilian after Atlético's 'Copa del Rey' exit to Barcelona. The full back said that "he likes to play football" and "never intends to disrespect" anyone.

He continued to explain that the Brazilian striker is a "humble and down to earth" guy that doesn't "kick or insult people", following the recent comments by the 'Colchoneros' about his playing style.

"Neymar is a very humble down to earth guy, who enjoys playing football and likes to play that way. Anyone that knows him understands this. He doesn't play that way intending to disrespect anybody. He doesn't kick or insult people", Alba explained.

Alba thinks that Real Madrid, who face Sevilla and Atlético de Madrid this week, could slip up in the coming days and re-open the race for the league title. "As a 'Culé' I always want Real Madrid to lose, but I prefer to focus on Barcelona, which is what matters the most. We need to win all of our games if we want to try and catch up, which is almost impossible", he explained.

He also wanted to consign recent comments by Jérémy Mathieu to the past, when the Frenchman admitted that there was a confrontation between Messi and Luis Enrique following the Christmas break. "That's been forgotten about. Everything's fine. There's a fantastic atmosphere within the team".
