When news filtered through that UEFA would be relaxing their Financial Fair Play rules, PSG were immediately linked with Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria. On Thursday, Le Parisien report that Di Maria has agreed to join Paris Saint Germain from Manchester United and will move in this transfer window.
PSG are beginning to make their moves in the transfer market with German goalkeeper Kevin Trapp joining from Eintracht Frankfurt and Yohan Cabaye set to leave for Crystal Palace.
But, Angel Di Maria is the big name PSG have been chasing for over a year now. Last summer the Ligue 1 champions were scuppered in their move to buy the former Real Madrid star due to FFP.
In the meantime, according to Le Parisien, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has maintained contact with Di Maria who failed to shine in his debut season with Manchester United.
Whilst contract terms have not been confirmed, Le Parisien claim PSG will pay 60 million euros. Manchester United signed Di Maria for 75 million euros but the midfielder is not happy in England.
Le Parisien speculate that right back Gregory van der Wiel could be included in the deal but this looks less likely with Torino full back Matteo Darmian heading to Old Trafford.
Di Maria had an impressive Copa America but picked up an injury early on in Argentina’s final defeat to Chile, which will likely keep him out for a month.
