Real Madrid are hoping that Porto will accept their invitation to take part in the Bernabéu Trophy game in mid August.
The Spanish club would in this way be able to celebrate an event paying homage to their long-standing captain, as they did for Raúl two years ago. However, it won't be easy. The Portuguese league kicks off on the weekend of 15th and 16th August. Porto, in fact, start their season by playing against Vitoria Guimaraes on 16th.
The last friendly game that 'Los Blancos' presently have arranged this summer is on 9th August against Valerenga in Norway, while Lopetegui's lot are to play Udinense on 8th. The only possibility for the Bernabéu Trophy game to take place is if it is celebrated at the beginning of the week 10th - 16th August.
