The game will resume on Wednesday at 12h00 with 27 minutes remaining and with Matsatsantsa holding a 1-0 lead.
Michael Boxall opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a neat finish from a David Mathebula free-kick, the New Zealand international with a goal on debut.
The lights at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane went out just past the hour mark. Generators were in place to combat the problem which was a first thought to be because of load shedding.
It was later established that the lights failed due to a technical fault.
