Anders Lindegaard Set To Leave Man United For Free

Anders Lindegaard set to leave Man United for free after talks with Louis van Gaal [Ekstra Bladet]
Danish daily Ekstra Bladet are reporting on Tuesday, that 31-year-old keeper Anders Lindegaard is set to leave Manchester United following talks with manager Louis van Gaal over the summer.

Lindegaard’s time at Man United has been stifled by a lack of first-team opportunities with the Red Devils.

The Denmark international was signed from Norwegian club Aalesunds FK in 2010 but has failed to seriously challenge David de Gea for the No 1 jersey.

According to Ekstra Bladet, Lindegaard has no future at United. In Van Gaal’s dream scenario, De Gea would remain his first choice keeper this season, Sergio Romero is his back-up, while young Sam Johnstone is now the third choice stopper at the Theatre of Dreams.

Ekstra Bladet believe Man United will let Lindegaard leave for free, despite the fact the keeper is under contract until 2016.

The Danish media outlet further claim that Lindegaard isn’t set to return to Scandinavia, rather he’s tipped to move to a “major European league” like Spain or France.
