NOT WANTED! West Ham Terminates Vaz Te' Contract

West Ham United have terminated the contract of Portuguese forward Ricardo Vaz Te by mutual consent, the Premier League club said on Saturday. The 28-year-old joined the east London side in 2012 and scored the winning goal in the Championship (second-tier) playoff final at Wembley that year to secure the team's promotion to the Premier League.

Vaz Te, who made 61 appearances and scored 19 goals in all competitions for West Ham, has found his playing time increasingly limited and has featured only five times this season.

Atletico Madrid Too Much For Carlo Ancelotti

Last term, Real lost 1-0 at the Bernabéu and managed a 2-2 draw at the Calderón in La Liga, triumphed in both legs of the Copa semi-finals (3-0 at home and 2-0 away) and snatched a 4-1 extra-time victory in Lisbon from the jaws of defeat.

Right at the beginning of this campaign, Ancelotti's men bade goodbye to their dreams of securing an unprecedented sextuple, losing out to Diego Simeone's troops in the Spanish Super Cup courtesy of a 1-1 stalemate at home and a 1-0 reverse across town. They were beaten again by the 'Colchoneros' in La Liga a couple of weeks later, and now they have been dumped out of the Spanish Cup by the same opposition, being outfought and outfoxed in a 2-0 first-leg loss at the Calderón and seeing their comeback hopes dashed by conceding early goals in both halves of the 2-2 draw in the second leg.

AFCON 2015: Equatorial Guinea vs Congo Preview

Equatorial Guinea get the Africa Cup of Nations under way against Group A rivals Congo on Saturday looking to cause a shock after what has been a tumultuous few months.

For the hosts, the weekend's curtain-raiser will likely come as something of a relief after the lengthy disagreement between Morocco, who were due to stage the tournament, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

BASKETBALL: Miami Ends Duke's 41 Game Unbeaten Run

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Suddenly, fourth-ranked Duke looks a bit lost. The defense isn't there. The 3-point shots aren't falling. And its Hall of Fame coach senses a lack of confidence from his freshman-led team.  Now Mike Krzyzewski will see how his Blue Devils respond to two straight losses, the second ending the program's long winning streak at its famously hostile arena.

Angel Rodriguez scored 24 points and Miami shot 67 percent after halftime to upset No. 4 Duke 90-74 on Tuesday night, snapping the Blue Devils' 41-game home winning streak and giving them consecutive regular-season losses for the first time in nearly six years.

AFCON 2015: Congo Victory Boost Cape Verde' Morale - Rui Aguas

Cape Verde coach Rui Aguas believes that his side’s 3-2 friendly victory over Congo this past weekend was a morale-booster ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. The Portuguese coach emphasised that the match was a worthwhile exercise despite the long distance travelled and fatigue suffered by his team in their trip from Lisbon, where they were in camp, to Dakar for the encounter against Congo.

The Blue Sharks found themselves 2-0 down against the Red Devils, but surged to a 3-2 win thanks to an own goal from Igor Nganga, Jailton ‘Kuka’ Miranda’s equaliser and a winner from Djaniny Semedo.

Absence Of World Cup Glory Will Limit Ronaldo & Messi From All Time Football Greats

Cristiano Ronaldo was the best footballer in the world in 2014. His third Ballon d’Or victory on Monday was 100 per cent deserved, and he now sits among a group of only five players to rack up such a hat-trick.

But until he can place a World Cup or European Championship winner’s medal alongside his three golden trophies, he will never be spoken of in the realms of the greatest players in history, such as Diego Maradona and Pele.

WOW! Messi Voted For Jose Mourinho As The Coach Of The Year

Messi's vote for 2014 Coach of the Year went to his fellow countryman and former Argentina boss, Alejandro Sabella. His second vote went to Pep Guardiola and his third to José Mourinho. It came as a surprise that the Argentine star did not vote for any of the three finalists: Joachim Löw, Carlo Ancelotti or Diego Pablo Simeone.

Cristiano on the other hand did. He was spot on and voted for all three, just not in the right order. The Portugal captain voted for Ancelotti, Simeone and then Löw.

Gareth Bale Gets Bernabeu Backlash After Ronaldo Bust Up

For better or worse, Gareth Bale took centre stage in the Espanyol match. He clipped home an exquisite free-kick worthy of any highlights reel, but riled Cristiano Ronaldo by opting to go it alone when he could have set his teammate up for a sitter. It was like the Mestalla all over again and CR7 was left apoplectic.

West Brom Fans Calls For Brown Ideye's Head

A section of the West Bromwich Albion support appears to have run out of patience with the club’s Nigerian striker, Brown Ideye. Ideye, WBA’s record signing from Ukrainian club, Dynamo Kyiv, has yet to hit expected heights with just one Premier League goal to his name this season.

The attacker failed to score in WBA’s latest Premier League game, a 1-0 win over Hull City at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

Goodluck Jonathan's Failed Promise Bad For Falcons - Samuel Ahmadu

Former assistant coach of Nigeria U20 women national team Christopher Alor has disclosed that the country may not excel at the 2015 Fifa Women's World Cup in Canada if the Super Falcons are not adequately motivated.

Though they have been paired with the USA, Sweden and Australia in Group D for the 2015 World Cup, Edwin Okon's ladies, who won a record seventh title at the 2014 African Women Championship in Namibia, still await a promised reception with President Goodluck Jonathan three months after.
