NPFL: Amokachi Has Brought Stability & Technical Discipline To Ifeanyi Ubah FC Says Nwaiwu

FC Ifeanyi Ubah midfielder Onyeka Nwaiwu feels constant changing of technical crew by club management is the main reason why the Anambra Warriors have recorded strings of poor result in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

For several weeks in the first stanza of the NPFL, the Nnewi based outfit were ranked among the best three placed team but soon dropped and are now ranked 11th on the log after 24 games played.

Bulgarian Mitko Dobrev was shown the exit door, and coach John Obuh was hired. Not too long, he was given the marching order for former Nigeria international, Daniel Amokachi to come in. According to Nwaiwu, that trend has affected the performance of the team.

“All the coaches we have brought in came with different patterns, and whenever we are gradually settling in with the tactics, they get evicted,” Nwaiwu lamented to Goal.

“Also, we bought so many players and most of them are yet to adapt properly into our playing pattern. These I think are the problems on why we have been going down on the log.”

Not minding their position on the log, the utility player believes Ifeanyi Ubah will definitely grab a continental ticket at the end of the season – and feels with coach Amokachi that will be achieved.

“We are going to bounce back. That is very certain,” he continued.

“With [Daniel] Amokachi in our midst – someone we are pleased to have based on his exploits as a player, we will end the season on a high.

“To be honest, he has brought stability and tactical discipline to the team and the players have improved tremendously. With him in the team, a continental ticket at the end of the season is sure,” he concluded.
