Oma Akatugba Tips Nigeria's Ahmed Musa, Yaya Toure & Ayew For African Footballer Of The Year

Oma Akatugba has tipped Nigeria's Ahmed Musa who plays for CSKA Moscow in Russia, Yaya Toure who plays for Manchester City and Ivory Coast and Ghana's Andrew Ayew who recently Joined Swansea City has his nominees for African footballer of the year.

Yaya Toure has won the award 4 times in a row and seems on the verge of wining it again. Toure is in fine form for Man City and most pundits will fancy him wining the prestigious award again. The last time a Nigerian went closer on wining the award was when Mikel struggled it out with him but he eventually lost out with a wide margin.

Nigeria's Ahmed Musa is in fine form and will also be playing in the Champions league this season after shooting his Russian side to glory in the UEFA Champions League Play offs. Musa in recent times has been in fine form for both country and club but i can't guarantee if he will make the top 3 listed players for the award. He will certainly be in the top 10 but his involvement by Oma might be based on nationality. Oma and Musa are both Nigerians..... They are even friends..

Ghana's Andrew Ayew has been instrumental to Ghana and looks like a huge signing for Swansea City, scoring against Champions Chelsea on his debut sent great joy to his fans and home country Ghana. Even if he continues his form am not certain if he has a chance to rival Yaya for the award. Ayew will not feature in the UEFA Champions League which might help to reduce his chances of getting a shot at the award.

The Afcon qualifiers will also play a big role in selecting the top 3 African players who are to contend for the award.
