CHELSEA: Jose Mourinho Celebrates 100TH EPL Win After Victory Over United

Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Manchester United helped keep the Blues in the title race – but it also marked manager Jose Mourinho’s 100th win in the Premier League.

The Portuguese manager set a new record when he reached the landmark in double quick time as it took him just 142 games – 20 less than Sir Alex Ferguson.

Mourinho becomes the 15th manager to join the list, which includes Arsene Wenger, Alan Curbishley and Harry Redknapp, who all reached a century of wins.

Sunday’s 3-1 win was Mourinho’s 15th Premier League win this season and his other 85 came in his first spell at Stamford Bridge between 2004 and 2007 when he won two Premier League titles.

Mourinho’s first win as Chelsea boss came way back in 2004 when an Eidur Gudjohnsen goal helped beat Manchester United 1-0 on the opening day of the season.

Joe Cole got the only goal of the game against Birmingham as Mourinho recorded his first away win in the league back in August 2004.

Frank Lampard and Oscar were both on target as Mourinho got his second spell off to a winning start with a 2-0 home win over Hull this season.

And Samuel Eto’o bagged a hat-trick to help Mourinho bring up his century of wins in the Premier League in style
