Madrid, Porto Agrees Casillas Deal

Iker Casillas has reached a definitive agreement with Real Madrid to clear the path for his move to Porto. The Spain goalkeeper's switch to the Estádio do Dragão looks to be a sure thing, with the final hitch in the talks, which temporarily deadlocked the deal again on Saturday afternoon, now overcome. 'Los Blancos' have agreed to foot the tax related to Casillas's payoff.

The agreement will see Casillas sign a two-year contract at Porto - with an optional third triggered if he makes more than 30 competitive appearances - with a gross salary of €10 million.

Real, meanwhile, will make up the shortfall so that Casillas ends up earning the same amount (€12.5m net) that he would have by staying at the Bernabéu for the two remaining years of his contract, with the corresponding tax to be paid by the Madrid outfit.
