U-20 WOMEN'S WORLD CUP: Falconets Ready To Finish Liberia Rout

Nigeria’s U20 women national side, Falconets will host Liberia today (Saturday) in the second leg of their 2016 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier at the Abuja National Stadium.

The Falconets defeated the Liberians 7-1 in the first leg clash at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia two weeks ago. Yetunde Adeboyejo scored a hat trick, while Amarachi Orjinma netted twice in that match. Chinwendu Ihezuo and Juliet Sunday scored one apiece.

Liberia had dismissed their Sierra Leonean opponents to set up a clash with last World Cup’s runners-up, Falconets.

The Falconets coached by Peter Dedevbo are likely play against either Namibia or RD Congo/Gabon in the second round before qualifying for the final round where they may face South Africa for one of the two African tickets to the world tournament.

Nigeria have qualified for all seven editions of the competition and have placed second twice (2010 and 2014).

The 2016 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup will hold in Papua New Guinea.
