Iniesta To Equal Xavi As The Most Achieved Spanish Player If Barca Wins Uefa Super Cup Tonight

Andres Iniesta is on the verge of creating history tonight as the midfield maestro looks to join Xavi as the most successful player in Spanish history with a win over Sevilla in the Uefa Super cup in Tbilisi.

The Spanish international is on the brink of equaling Xavi’s record of most team honours. The former Barça star has won more trophies than any other Spanish player in history having picked up 28 club and international team honours throughout his career.

Andres iniesta sits on 27 titles and knows that a victory against Spanish rivals Sevilla in tonight’s Uefa Super Cup will cement his legacy alongside his friend and former colleague.

The Catalan side go in to tonight’s game off the back of a historic campaign last season where Barcelona completed a European and Domestic treble.

The breaking team news will not give Sevilla much confidence in pulling off an upset as it has been confirmed that both Leo Messi and Luis Suarez will be in tonight’s starting line up. The pair have returned to training following a grueling Copa America at the end of last season and while Brazillian superstar Neymar has been ruled out, Manchester United target Pedro may feature from the subs bench for possibly the last time in a Barcelona shirt.
