Man City In Fresh £50m Bid For Kevin de Bruyne

Manchester City have tabled a fresh bid for Kevin De Bruyne, the Mirror claim in an exclusive this afternoon.

The tabloid claim that City made a formal £50m offer for the Belgian playmaker yesterday, which is a £3m increase on the £47m they bid on Monday.

But despite the huge fee, it’s still some way short of Wolfsburg’s valuation of the midfielder, as the Germans hold out for £57m.

De Bruyne was voted player of the year in the Bundesliga last season, and even broke the record for assists in a single season.

Having been sold by Chelsea in January 2014, the Belgian has taken his game to a whole new level, and City boss Pellegrini believes that he can be the final piece of their attacking puzzle.

According to the Mirror, City are confident that they’ll complete the signing before the window closes at the end of the month, as they’re convinced the player himself wants the move, albeit he is reticent to express so publicly.
