Super Eagles: Oliseh Replaces Enyeama With Enyimba's Femi Thomas

Femi Thomas has been given a late call up by coach Sunday Oliseh after Eagles No.1 goalie and captain pulled out of Tanzania's clash due to family issues.

Enyimba goalkeeper Femi Thomas has been called up to replace Vincent Enyeama after the Super Eagles skipper withdrew from the Afcon 2017 qualifying game with Tanzania.

Thomas was initially called up by Oliseh when the team resumed camping a couple of weeks ago but didn't make the cut after only five home based players got Oliseh's nod to join up with the foreign based pros.

Enyeama was listed for the trip and after failing to meet the deadline for resumption to camp, he eventually withdrew from the team citing 'personal reasons'.

Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme and Sunshine Stars of Akure's Ikechukwu Ezenwa are the two goalkeepers in camp and Thomas will join up with them now.

Nigeria will face the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in a Group G encounter in Dar Es Salaam as the Super Eagles attempt to qualify for Gabon 2017 after missing out on the last edition in Equatorial Guinea.

The Super Eagles will also face Niger Republic on September 8th at the Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in an international friendly after their return from Dar Es Salaam.
