Manchester United defender Chris Smalling enters the record books for his two goals against Burnley last season when, after coming off the bench after 5 minutes 9 seconds, scored to earn the record for the Fastest Goal in the Premier League by a Substitute from Kick Off. He had only been on the pitch for 22 seconds and scored again to earn a second record for the Most Goals in the Premier League Scored by a Sub in the First Half.

The winning goal by Mario Goetze in the final was the First Winning Goal by a Substitute in a Final, this was also Germany’s 224th goal which is the Most Goals Ever by a Team in the World Cup.
