Jamie Vardy Breaks Van Nistelrooy's Premier League Goal Record

Premier league top striker Jamie Vardy has earned a new premier league goal scoring record after scoring his 11th consecutive goal against Manchester United. Vardy has been the revelation of the season so far.

Jamie Vardy has broken Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premier League record by scoring in an 11th consecutive top-flight game.

Vardy broke the record in the 24th minute of Leicester City’s match against Van Nistelrooy’s former club Manchester United to put his side 1-0 up in a top of the table clash.

The England striker was picked out by Christian Fuchs on a Foxes break and finished inside the penalty area.
Perfect striker's finish. Gets between defenders, peels into space with great timing. Never in doubt from there. #Vardy

Vardy has netted 13 goals on his current run and is the Premier League's top scorer so far this season with 14 goals overall.

He was playing non-league football as recently as the 2011-12 season, having worked his way up from the lower reaches of the English game to earn a £1 million move to Leicester in May 2012.
