Sunshine 5-1 Rangers: Tunji Adeniji Hits Brace As Enugu Boys Suffer Humilation

Hot Sunshine Stars went on rampage on Wednesday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos as they thrashed Rangers 5-1 in a rescheduled NPFL match. Leading goal scorer Tunji Adeniji hit a brace in the demolition of the Enugu boys.

Sunshine remain fifth on the league table with 56 points from 35 matches to keep their hope of getting a continental ticket alive.

Cameroon midfielder Tamen Medrano opened the scoring in the 35th minute, when he converted a spot kick following Okechukwu Odita's hand ball which resulted in the Rangers defender being sent off by the referee.

Tunde Adeniji made it 2-0 for ‘The Akure Gunners’ in the 51st minute, when he capitalised on a defensive error.

Three minutes later, Kehinde Adedipe finished off Adeniji's flick for the third goal.

They were not done yet as Dayo Ojo made it 4-0 two minutes later.

Adeniji completed a brace in the 80th minute to make it 5-0, before substitute Razak Adegbite scored a consolation goal for Rangers in the 85th minute.
