Odion Ighalo Hits Target For Watford Against Aston Villa

Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo scored for Watford in the Barclays English Premier League on Saturday as the Hornets beat Aston Villa 3-2. Ighalo scored in 17th minute to temporarily give the visitors the lead at Villa Park.

The forward displayed predatory instincts of the highest quality to get off the mark as he reacted in lightening fashion to poke home after Ben Watson’s shot rebounded off Ciarian Clark and fell fortuitously towards his path.

Micah Richards levelled for Villa four minutes from half time to deny Watford a chance to claim maximum points.

The Nigerian striker had a hand in Watford’s third goal as his deflected shot fell kindly towards the path of Troy Deeney who headed past Brad Guzan in goal for the Villans.

Ighalo will however look back with fond memories at the game as his effort represented his eighth league goal of the season.

Watford’s win on Saturday lifts them to 11th place on the Barclays English Premier League standings with 19 points from 14 matches.
