Man United Agrees Transfer Deal With Argentina`s Goalie Sergio Romero

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign free agent Sergio Romero according to Gazetta Dello Sport. The Argentine goalkeeper has been looking for a new club after recently being released by Italian side Sampdoria, and it looks as though the 32-year old shot stopper will be making his way to Old Trafford in the near future.

There has been non stop speculation about the future of not one but two of Man United’s goalkeepers in recent weeks, but it is understood that Sergio Romero will be signed as a replacement for former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes who has been told to find a new club after an apparent fall out with Reds’ boss Louis Van Gaal.

The signing of Sergio Romero will do nothing to play down constant speculation regarding the future of Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea. Despite seemingly being on his way to the Santiago Bernebau last month, it looks as though the 24-year old might be staying in Manchester this summer as Real Madrid have so far been reluctant to make a big money offer for a player who is out of contract next summer, whilst Man United maintain their stance of not wanting to sell.

It remains to be seen whether David De Gea will remain at Old Trafford beyond September, but we don’t expect an end to this transfer saga anytime soon.
