Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor looked set to leave Spurs this summer for Aston Villa, but it appears that a deal has fallen through.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City star made only 9 Premier League starts for Spurs last season and manager Mauricio Pochettino recently admitted that he is unlikely to feature at White Hart Lane this season.
He was busy on social media today following Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford, direct messaging a fan on Instagram.
The 31-year-old was begged to leave the club by a Spurs fan and simply responded with a rather immature “hahahahahaha lmao“.
The Tottenham fan responded to Adebayor on Instagram, begging him to stop stealing £100,000 a week from his club.
Adebayor had been expected to sign with his former manager Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa but reportedly did not want to leave London for Birmingham.
With Harry Kane leading the line, Adebayor is one of only three recognised strikers at White Hart Lane, with Roberto Soldado reportedly close to sealing a move back to La Liga.
