AFCON: Obafemi Martins Tips Nigeria Above Tanzania

In form Seattle Sounders forward and former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins thinks that Oliseh’s first list as the new Eagles' gaffer is spot on.

Martins, who has scored 18 goals in 39 games for Nigeria called the list, that includes 6 local stars from the NPFL (below with Oliseh ) , laden with talent and has tipped Nigeria to beat Tanzania.

“I think the coach has chosen a good squad and hopefully Nigeria will win in Tanzania,” the mercurial star said from his base in Seattle USA.

“We shouldn’t underrate any team in Africa for now, there are no minnows in world football anymore. I have seen the list, very experience team led by Emenike (Emmanuel) (below)and Vincent Enyeama and I am sure they will beat their host to come out top in the group.” He went on to say.

"Obagoal" as he is fondly called by Super Eagles fans has recently declared that he is willing to play for Nigeria again after publicly criticizing former Coach Keshi and vowing not to play internationally again.

Nigeria and Egypt have three points each after one game in the AFCON qualifying series in Group G, though the Pharaohs have scored one more goal and are therefore ahead following their 3-0 defeat of Tanzania in Cairo.
