Ghanian Left Back Agrees Personal Terms With Chelsea

Chelsea are on the verge of completing a deal for Ghanain left back Abdul Rahman Baba after the player agreed personal terms with the club, according to Bild.

It had been widely reported that the two clubs have agreed a fee in the region of £14 million for the defender, and now it is understood that the 21-year-old has agreed terms on a move to Stamford Bridge.

Abdul Rahman Baba currently plays his football in the Bundesliga for FC Augsburg and has impressed many clubs throughout Europe. The player had been linked with a move to Seria A side Roma and Premier League giants Arsenal, but it looks as though the defender will be moving to West London during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are looking for a left back to deputise for Cesar Azpilicueta who had an extremely impressive season in West London during the last campaign. The Blues’ other full back Fillipe Luis has returned to former club Atletico Madrid, leaving Jose Mourinho with a position to fill on the left side of his defence.

Chelsea are reportedly also keen on signing a centre half during the summer transfer window, with Everton defender John Stones top of their priority list. Despite the Blues’ interest in the England international, Everton have maintained that one of their most coveted assets is not for sale.
