Spurs In £10m Deal For Lyon Striker Clinton Njie

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the £10million signing of Lyon forward Clinton Njie according to the Guardian.

The Cameroon international is just 21-years-old but has already scored six goals in just 11 caps for his country and has been tipped to become the eventual successor to former Barcelona star Samuel Eto’o.

The forward managed Eight goals and nine assists in 33 appearances as Lyon finished 2nd in Ligue 1 last season.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is eager to add to his striking options during this transfer window as the Argentine coach also looks to offload current Spurs frontmen Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado who are deemed surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane.

The North London club kicked off the new Premier League season with an unlucky 1-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday. Despite Spurs arguably being the better of the two sides the lack of pace and penetration in attacking areas was evident. The reported arrival of Clinton Njie could be exactly what Tottenham need.
