Injury Rules Asisat Oshoala Out For Eight Weeks

Nigerian female striker Asisat Oshoala has been ruled out for at least eight weeks to a knee injury. The reigning African queen was replaced in the 53rd minute in Liverpool Ladies' 2 - 1 loss to Notts County last Saturday after she copped a knee injury.

Three Liverpool Ladies players, including England midfielder Fara Williams, are set to miss the majority of the club's remaining games this season after picking up injuries.

The former Rivers Angels goal poacher joined the Reds in January and has scored three goals in her seven English Women Super League appearances for the Matt Beard's ladies.

Following the shocking injury, Oshoala will automatically miss the Super Falcons' second round, second leg Olympic Games qualifying fixture against Equatorial Guinea in Bata on August 2, 2015.

'Superzee' was not dressed in Liverpool’s 2 - 0 victory against Everton in the Continental Tyres Cup - the development that heightened fears about the degree of her injury.
