NPFL: Sunshine Roars Back To League Top

Sunshine Stars are back on top of the Nigeria league table after a 2-0 win over Sharks at the Akure Township stadium on Thursday.

Sunshine now have 39 points from 21 games, a point ahead of second-placed Enyimba. Prince Aggreh opened the scoring for the hosts in the 10th minute.

Tunde Adeniji after a series of misses doubled Sunshine's lead in the 68th minute to take his goals’ haul to 12 from a loose ball.


Sunshine created several chances in this match which was rescheduled because they were involved in a car accident.

In the 20th minute, Adeniji connected a cross but his effort sailed over the bar with only the goalkeeper to beat.

In the 25th minute, Dele Olorundare missed another glorious opportunity to double the home team’s lead.
Prince Aggreh was denied a brace in the 38th minute as he shot crashed against the goal post.
