Barcelona winger Pedro has verbally agreed a deal to sign for Manchester United, and despite late interest from Manchester City the 28-year-old will be a man of his word and complete a move to Old Trafford in the next few days, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Reports in Spain suggest that the Catalan side have recieved a written offer from the Red Devils believed to be in the region of €25million plus €5million in add ons and performance related bonuses.
What is interesting is that Mundo Deportivo are also reporting that Barcelona have recieved a verbal offer from Man City thought to be around €30million plus €2million in various add ons and bonuses, which is a significantly higher bid than that of their local rivals.
It is understood that while the Spanish international is keen to stick to his word and complete a move to the Red side of Manchester this summer, the influence of City sporting director Txiki Begiristain who Pedro knows from his time at Barcelona and the Blues’ higher offer for the player have made the 28-year-old’s decision more difficult.
Pedro who may have played his last game for Barcelona, came off the bench in extra time to score the winning goal for the Catalan side as they claimed the UEFA Super Cup after a 5-4 victory against Sevilla after a thrilling 120 minutes in Tbilisi
