Rooney, Yaya Tops List Of Top Ten Highest Paid Players In Premier League

Wayne Rooney is highest paid player in Premier League, Mesut Özil only Arsenal player in Top 10 [Mail]

The Daily Mail have published a list of the highest paid Premier League players, which makes for interesting reading in the context of this new Premier League season.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney tops the list, and will earn a staggering 73m pounds on his current deal.

Considering how poor Rooney’s been so far this season (excluding his penalties for England), it’s hard to reconcile with the fact that he’s the best paid player in the league.

The rest of the top 10 is made up of Manchester City and Chelsea players, and amazingly, just one Arsenal player features.

Mesut Ozil is the only Gunner, coming in at 6th place with his 190,000 pounds a week, which reflects Arsenal’s famously parsimonious wage policy.

Premier League newcomer Kevin De Bruyne, who signed for Man City from Wolfsburg this summer, already features on the top 10, coming at 9th place.
