Didier Drogba And Kolo Toure Warn Nigeria Over Bosnia-Herzegovina
Ivorian international Kolo Toure has sounded a note of warning to African champion, Nigeria ahead of the 2014 Fifa World Cup finals in Brazil. Toure is full of respect for one of Nigeria’s group opponents at the finals, Bosnia-Herzegovina, which he described as a side full of “top players”.
"Bosnia have top players. Emir Spahic will be one of the better defenders at the World Cup," Toure said during the post-match conference after the Ivorians lost 1-2 to Bosnia-Herzegovina in a friendly international decided at Edward Jones Dome on May 30.
Toure’s international teammate, Didier Drogba, went a step further to describe the Dragons as “very dangerous team with star players.”

Jose Mourinho Tips Super Eagles And Elephants Of Ivory Coast For World Cup Last 16
Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has tipped Nigeria and Ivory Coast as the African countries to reach the second round of the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil. The African champions, Nigeria, are in Group D of the Mundial alongside Argentina, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Portuguese coach expects the Super Eagles to finish in second position behind the South Americans.
He opted to pick Nigeria to qualify behind Argentina and ahead of Bosnia and Iran based on the fact that they have a Chelsea player in John Obi Mikel.
"I'll do the same I did in Group A. I'll have to say Argentina has to be the group winner. What makes me decide in favour of Nigeria is the fact that I have one player there (John Obi Mikel). I'll pick Nigeria as the runner-up," Mourinho said on Yahoo's Dirty Tackle.

Sunday Mba Upset After World Cup Snub
Africa Cup of Nations hero, Sunday Mba, has expressed utter disappointment of being dropped from the Nigerian squad billed to take part in the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil. Mba, 25, admitted that he was looking forward to being part of the final 23-man team and had hoped "to fight and sweat" at the Mundial for his country.
"(I am) gutted to not make the 23 man team to the World Cup. (I) really wanted to fight & sweat for the glory of the team and my beloved country," Mba stated via his Twitter account on Tuesday.
The former Warri Wolves and Enugu Rangers man then stated later that he has accepted his fate following his exclusion from the Nigerian squad.

Scolori Key To Brazil's Team Unity Says Hulk
Brazil international Hulk has praised coach Luiz Felipe Scolari for his influence in creating a united team.
The Zenit St Petersburg forward believes Brazil’s Confederations Cup success was largely down to the fact that the squad are a "tight-knit group", which he believes has stemmed from Scolari’s positive leadership.
"This group of lads is brilliant," he told Fifa’s official website. "The Selecao squad have always been a great bunch, ever since I was first called up.
"We needed to go through a decisive period, really show our strength and, by doing that, form a closed, tight-knit group – which was what happened at the Confederations Cup.

I Was Approached To Play For Spain Says Lionel Messi
Argentina's Leo Messi writes in the first person in 'Messi, The Patriot' about his career with the Argentinian national team and the harsh criticism which he has received back in his home country, where people accuse him of not being committed to the sky blue shirt.
The Barcelona player states, "I would change all of the records to make our mark in history; to make the people of my country happy," because "Argentina is my country, my family, my way of expressing myself". He goes on to say, "People ask me why I have not picked up the Spanish accent and it is simple: I do not want to pick it up, or to lose any identification with my country."
The Argentinian star looked back on his childhood: "I was always an avid fan of the national team. I watched the games on television because I could never go to the grounds and watch them as a fan. The worst memory I have of a World Cup was in 2002, when we were knocked out of the tournament in South Korea and Japan. It was painful to watch it from a distance."

Farewell As Chelsea's All Time Highest Goal Scorer Frank Lampard Leaves
Andy Wilkinson had felled Mohamed Salah and a familiar sense of expectation gripped Stamford Bridge. Lee Probert pointed to the spot and Frank Lampard stepped up. Asmir Begovic saved the first shot, low to his right, but could do nothing about the rebound. It was goal number 211 and secured a win which took Chelsea back to the top of the Premier League. Beyond that it did not seem particularly significant. But it was. For it was and will remain Lampard’s last goal for Chelsea.
The article announcing his departure on Chelsea’s website read more like a eulogy than a press release. Few players and no manager – not even Jose Mourinho – have been granted such a heartfelt send-off in the Roman Abramovich era. It was extraordinary and yet utterly fitting.
Everyone will have their own view on Chelsea’s greatest-ever player debate. Peter Osgood was the star of a thrilling team responsible for an entire generation of Blues fans in the 1960s. Gianfranco Zola enjoyed similar status 30 years later. In the Abramovich years, Petr Cech has established himself as the club’s greatest ever goalkeeper, John Terry the club’s greatest ever captain and Didier Drogba the ultimate match-winner, including the biggest match of all.
SCANDAL!!! Barcelona Committed Tax Fraud With Neymar's Signing
In a new chapter in Neymar-gate, judge Pablo Ruz has received a report from the Spanish Tax Agency which concludes that Barcelona committed fraud amounting to over €9 million in the signing of Neymar, according to reports by 'Cadena Ser'.
The Public Prosecutor's Office of the Supreme Court will now demand that the club, which will appoint a legal representative, and former president Rosell declare as the accused.

Manchester United Prepare €270m Summer Spending Spree
With Arsenal out of the running, United have one less rival in the fight to sign Cesc Fàbregas, who they are offering €6 million after tax per season. They are also willing to shell out Barça's €€40 million asking price.
Although Koke has publicly stated on several occasions that he intends to carry on wearing the red and white stripes of Atlético, the great season which he has had will inevitably cause him to be linked to all of the big clubs in the market for a top-class midfielder.
Fabregas Set For Chelsea Move
Cesc Fàbregas has decided to leave Barcelona and José Mourinho's Chelsea seems to be his next stop. With Frank Lampard embarking on an adventure in New York, there is a difficult gap to fill and the man from Arenys is the chosen one.
The player may have even had a medical at Stamford Bridge last week according to unconfirmed reports.
Fàbregas was in London and various sources have revealed that Chelsea had the player flown over to the British capital on a private jet for a fleeting visit.
The deal is far from sealed, however, as Manchester City have made their way back into the running for the midfielder, having seemingly dropped their interest at one stage.

Cristiano Ronaldo Will Perform At The World Cup Despite Injury Worries
Cristiano Ronaldo will play in the World Cup. All at the Portugal camp are in agreement that the player will take part; what worries them is at what level he will do so. The forward is carrying an injury that obliges him to rest up. He has had it for a few weeks now but his circumstances and personal ambitions have not allowed him to stop even for a minute.
The Portugal team doctors are worried about the effect the huge quota of matches the player is to be subject to. Ronaldo already put his patellar ligament under a lot of strain in the final stretch of last season, and the fear is that the World Cup matches will be too much, resulting in a possible complete breakage.
Many thought that he had already reached his limits before the Lisbon final, but they were proved wrong.
Saturday's CAT scan's results showed a slight and insufficient improvement. The patellar ligament is very tough and is not broken so easily.

Jose Mourinho Tips France For World Cup Glory
The Chelsea manager told Yahoo! that he will have ample opportunity to size up Didier Deschamps' men, while he feels Les Bleus could well have the measure of every other team in the competition.
"I think it's possible [France could win the World Cup]. The players play in the best teams in Europe," he said. "They have quality and experience. Didier Deschamps also has a lot of experience as a coach of top-level clubs. And the national team has won some big competitions."
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema will be central to France's bid to win their second World Cup.
Benzema, 27, has been struggling to overcome an adductor injury sustained late in the La Liga season, and played no part as Les Bleus drew 1-1 with Paraguay in Nice on Sunday in their second warm-up friendly ahead of the tournament in Brazil.

LAMBERT IS A RED: Rickie Lambert Officially Signs For Liverpool
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of England international Rickie Lambert from Southampton for an undisclosed fee.
As reported by Goal on Thursday, the Anfield outfit made a shock move for the 32-year-old forward as they looked to supplement their first-choice attacking line of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge with proven Premier League quality.
The surprising transfer was prompted after Liverpool baulked at Swansea City's £20m pricetag for Wilfried Bony, and Lambert could yet be joined by Saints team-mate Adam Lallana, the subject of a 'take it or leave it' final offer of £25m from the Reds.

Ozil, Klose, Muller Tops Germany's World Cup 23 - Man List As Marcel Schmelzer Fails To Make List
Joachim Low has named his final 23-man Germany squad for the World Cup, with Marcel Schmelzer the notable man to be excluded from the list.
The Borussia Dortmund defender had been struggling with groin and knee problems and was left out of the 2-2 friendly draw with Cameroon on Sunday.
Schmelzer has been unable to convince Low of his fitness prior to Germany's campaign, which begins at the end of next week, and he has therefore been omitted from the final squad, along with striker Kevin Volland and fellow defender Shkodran Mustafi.

Chelsea Plot To Raid Atletico With €100m Offer For Diego Costa, Felipe Luis & Diego Godin
Chelsea are set to raid Atletico Madrid and add Diego Costa, Felipe Luis and Diego Godin to their squad for a combined €100m, according to Spanish site AS.
If this turns out to be true, it could mean that Chelsea will take five players from Atletico over the summer with Tiago Mendes and potential returning loanee Thibaut Courtois also coming back.
Rumours abound that Chelsea may loan Romelu Lukaku to Atletico if that is the case, but with David Villa also departing it leaves manager Diego Simeone with a potential rebuilding job on his hands.

MONDAY'S PAPER GOSSIPS: Lallana To force Liverpool Move, Arsenal Wants Baloteli, Fabregas For City & More
LALLANA TO FORCE LIVERPOOL MOVE?
We begin today's gossip in an unusual place - the Liverpool Echo - with their claim that Adam Lallana may have to hand in a transfer request to force through a move to Anfield. They claim: 'A final "take it or leave it" offer of £25m was tabled for Lallana on Friday, with Liverpool eager to bring the 26-year-old to Merseyside. As yet, there has been no formal response to that bid from Southampton, who are in no rush to part with their prized asset.'
Southampton are thought to want closer to £30m for Lallana, largely because they owe 25% of any fee to Bournemouth. Liverpool are still said to be hopeful of completing a move before the World Cup, but could turn to Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri if their move is unscuccessful.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claim that Alberto Moreno is likely to become Liverpool's new £16m left-back (when did left-backs become so expensive?) within the next few says after he was left out of Spain's World Cup squad.

Samuel Eto Calls Mourinho A ''Fool'' Again
Samuel Eto'o has yet again mocked Jose Mourinho after celebrating a goal in Cameroon's 2-2 friendly draw against Germany on Sunday night.
Mourinho was caught on camera lamenting the quality of the forwards at his disposal at a sponsors' event in Switzerland in February, and suggested that Eto'o could be older than he claims to be.
The 33-year-old striker netted the first goal against Joachim Low's side on Sunday, and repeated the celebration he first unveiled against Tottenham where he held his back in mock pain and used the corner flag as a walking stick.

Nigeria's Ogenyi Onazi Denies Match Fixing
Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has denied any involvement in match-fixing after being caught up in a newspaper sting.
Onazi, 21, was caught on camera - planted by English paper The Sun - meeting with player agent Henry Chukwuma Okoroji and an alleged match-fixer. The fixer claimed he could ensure a yellow card for £40,000 and a penalty for more than £80,000 during matches at the 2014 finals in Brazil.
Onazi, who plays his club football for Lazio, took to Twitter on Sunday night to insist he was only present at the meeting to discuss an "endorsement proposition".
