With Karim Benzema being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, it’s surely no coincidence that the latest account he’s started following is Wengerland.
Oddly enough, Wengerland is not even a particularly big Arsenal fan account, with just 466 followers and 67 posts.
Coupled with Benzema’s coded Instagram post yesterday, in which he enigmatically spoke of ‘looking to the future’, this follow from Benzema is quite possibly further agitation from Benzema for a move to the Emiarates.
Wenger, for his part, has remained coy on making a bid for the French striker, and has insisted that he won’t be splashing the cash this summer unless he can find value for money.
It was reported last week that Arsenal have 200m pounds cash reserves, but having invested significantly in the last two windows, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Wenger opt out of a big-money purchase this summer.
