Arsenal: Wenger Lashed, Criticized After Olympiakos Defeat

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger found himself attacked from all sides on Wednesday after his selection decisions backfired to leave his team facing an embarrassing group-stage exit in the Champions League.

Wenger elected to pick David Ospina instead of first-choice goalkeeper Petr Cech at home to Olympiakos on Tuesday, but the Colombian committed a first-half howler, palming a corner into his own net, as Arsenal lost 3-2 to register a second consecutive Group F defeat.

"OOPSPINA" was the headline in British newspaper the Daily Mirror, while the Daily Express said the former Nice goalkeeper had committed a "calamity" and The Sun said Wenger's men had been "humiliated".

Why Nigerian Football Coaches Should Ignore Foreign Bred Players - Aderonke Bello

As a professional journalist, I know how normal it is for the media to sing praises of players born and bred abroad with Nigerian roots, some even leave the local players and start to hype the foreign based professionals.

It is no longer news that Jordon Ibe who has redefined the pronunciation of his name as ‘hybe’ seemingly to denounce his Nigerian roots, has opted for England. I disagree that he snubbed Nigeria but will rather say that, he snubbed the Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, a home-made/bred ex-player hunting for foreign-made/bred players and who vehemently attempted to persuade him to play for the Eagles.

Diego Costa Is Being Witch Hunted - Jose Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho complained about a "witch-hunt" by the footballing authorities against Diego Costa ahead of Tuesday's Champions League Group G match at Porto.

The Spain striker was banned retrospectively for three domestic matches by the English FA after being found guilty of violent conduct in the 2-0 win over Arsenal earlier this month.

Nigerians Abroad: Ogbeche Hits Double, Musa Fires Blank & More

Nigerian striker, Bartholomew Ogbeche scored twice for Cambuur in the Eredivisie on a weekend when not many Nigerians hogged the headlines for goalscoring performances in Europe. Abduljeleel Ajagun and Fred Friday were the other goalscorers in Greece and Norway respectively.

How Mourinho Contributed To Casillas' Downfall

There is a certain twisted irony that Jose Mourinho and Iker Casillas should be reunited at a ground that gave birth to ‘the Special One’, and which now serves as the graveyard for one of his great opposers. The Spanish goalkeeping icon is now playing out the final days of his career at Porto, in the shadow of the man who began his downfall. When Mourinho arrived at Real Madrid in 2010, newly crowned world champion Casillas was at his peak. Since then he has been cast out and cut adrift.

In the belly of Estadio do Dragao lie countless reminders of Mourinho’s enduring legacy, in posters, mosaics and silverware, and now the latest chapter of another of his great battles will be written on the Porto turf, as the Chelsea boss takes his sluggish side to Oporto to take on both his old club and his old foe – though he might wonder if Casillas's place, like his own legacy in Portugal’s second city, would be better consigned to a museum. It was he who first questioned the goalkeeper’s ability, first challenged his authority and first dropped him from the Madrid starting XI. Now they meet again.

Buffon Urges Juve To Find An Identity

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has called on Massimiliano Allegri's struggling side to "find an identity" after their terrible start to Serie A.

Pictured! England Polo Player Who Had 'S3x With Jeremy Kyle's Wife 20 Times Speaks, As Couple Separates

Carla Germaine, 40, who has split from the chat show host after 13 years of marriage, allegedly began a relationship with 25-year-old James Carr after meeting him during a polo lesson three years ago. The sports star, who represented England in the sport in 2011, claims the relationship began after they swapped numbers during a night out at Bar One in their home town of Ascot, Berkshire, in March this year. After sending one another a string of flirty messages, the pair apparently began meeting at Mr Carr's rented home - which was opposite the £2m gated mansion that Carla shared with the TV host and their children - in June.

Ronaldo is two goals away from overtaking Raul following his eight goals so far this season, but he has failed to find the net in five of Madrid's six Liga games in 2015-16.

He once more drew a blank against Malaga, despite notching up 14 attempts, but Marcelo feels it would be unfair to criticise the prolific attacker.

I Owe Ramires & Willian A Debt - Jose Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho admitted he owed a debt of gratitude to substitutes, Ramires and Willian who were responsible for the fightback which earned a 2-2 draw at Newcastle.

Chelsea were trailing 2-0 and seemingly heading for their fifth defeat in eight games when Ramires sparked the recovery with a long-range shot in the 79th minute.

He then distracted Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul sufficiently to enable Willian's free-kick to find a way past him.

Juventus Can Still Win Serie A - Massimiliano Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri is adamant that Juventus can retain the Serie A title despite seeing their worst league start continue with a 2-1 loss at Napoli on Saturday.

Goals from Lorenzo Insigne and the impressive Gonzalo Higuain was enough for Napoli to condemn Juve to their third defeat of the campaign at Stadio San Paolo.

However, under-fire coach Allegri insists that his side, who have dominated domestically in recent seasons, will be competing in the upper echelons of the table soon enough, stating that injuries to key players have left Juve void of experience.

There were no such uncertainties for the equaliser as Kyle Walker was well offside ahead of firing a cross in which was half-cleared to allow Eric Dier to lash low into the bottom corner from 30 yards.
